Introducing Build Your Food Allergy Cookbook Collection & 2 Cookbooks Up for Giveaway Grabs
1 Aug 2012
Food Allergies, Folks & Attune Foods
Part of my job at Attune Foods involves fielding customer calls. You might be surprised how many come in from parents who just found out their child has to avoid a number of foods and is a bit perplexed with the news. Other times, it might involve talking to a person who is newly diagnosed and wondering what they can eat. I refer them to our website and to all the wonderful articles and recipes on our blog written with a food-allergy focus. I sometimes even refer them to other blogs or websites that are wells of good information. They come to us because they have heard about our Erewhon organic gluten free cereals, certified by GIG. These seven cereals are made in a dairy-free, tree nut free, peanut free, and egg free facility, making them food-allergy friendly. With the customer calls in mind, I began trying to think of how to expand the repertoire of resources for those who are still mind boggled by what they can’t eat rather than what they can.
A Plan is Hatched
After meeting a host of cookbook authors at a recent Gluten Free Expo in May, a plan was hatched. What I found as a common ingredient among these cookbook authors other than being experts in the area of food-allergy friendly cooking was their knowledge and use of our gluten free Erewhon cereals. From this, the idea to start a two-month long series of weekly cookbook giveaways was born. Our “Build Your Food Allergy Cookbook Collection” giveaway series officially begins on Monday!
Build a Food Allergy Cookbook Collection Details
Each Monday, we will feature one author sharing their personal story of diagnosis or what led them to write their cookbook. Included in the featured blog post, they will share a recipe using Erewhon cereal with a link for you to enter the giveaway. Each cookbook giveaway will last for one week and at the end of the week, we will select one winner randomly.
Easy, right? In the beginning, living with food allergies can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be anything less than delicious as seen through the giveaway cookbooks below.

My favorite go to cookbook for my dairy allergy is Go Dairy Free. I love to eat and having been diagnosed with a dairy allergy nearly 10 years ago, Alisa Fleming’s book has been a godsend for me. I never thought I would eat ‘cottage’ or ‘ricotta’ cheese again but thanks to her cookbooks, I can and do. Her tips and recipes have helped me to make meals for my family that both taste good and that we all can eat.
I would love to win the cookbooks. The dessert one I would keep for me the diary free I would give to my daughter who is dairy free while she is nursing. Would also love to try the cereal. Not easy to find cereal without added milk proteins.

My son is allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts and kiwi. He wants to be a chef so he can make delicious and safe food for himself (and everyone else)! He would SO love to start his cookbook collection. Right now, our go-to book is Cybele Pascal’s “The Allergen-Free Baker’s Handbook”.
