Why is Eating Breakfast Important to You?

Your day needs to start out of the gate with a chance to succeed and breakfast is our building block of the day.

Being a busy dad of three boys, under the age of 7, it is important that our household starts out the day on a similar schedule or meeting point.  Eating breakfast together is our starting block that helps us discuss our intentions and devise schedules for the day, which usually has at least three different pathways for the rest of the day.  My wife uses the time, during our breakfast, to navigate her way through the preparation of the day to get them on the right track.

Fruits, Grains and dairy are the building blocks of our day.  This allows our boys to eat a balanced meal starting out their day with enough energy to do the fun things that kids like to:  run, swim, ride bikes and scooters and dig in the dirt and sand.

Eating breakfast for us, is more than just eating the right balanced foods.  It is about what our mornings are built around as my parents, grandparents and great grandparents taught us.  “Make sure you get off to a good start in morning”  Everyone has different interpretations and opinions of comments or quotes, but for us it is so hard these days to bring the family together, so why not just start it out right and see each other off into the day’s challenges and adventures together around breakfast?
