Flaxseed Cereals High in Fiber – Uncle Sam Original 10oz

Uncle Sam Original - 10oz.

Toasted whole wheat berry flakes combine with whole flaxseeds in this American Heart Association Heart-Check certified cereal!

We take hard red winter wheat berries from the American heartland and then steam, roll and toast them. We blend them with just a touch of barley malt and salt to enhance the natural flavor of the whole grain. Then we add flaxseeds. And that's it.

Our traditional method preserves the natural fiber, nutritional value, shape and flavor of the whole grains. Each serving has 10 grams of fiber and 9 grams of protein to help promote all-day energy. With less than 1 gram of sugar, you get to decide how sweet you want it.

Enjoy by the bowl, sprinkled over yogurt or to add crunch to salad and soup.

Also available in new 13oz. value size.

"We have been eating the Uncle Sam's Original Cereal for years and feel it's the best cereal available on the market for its nutritional value. "
- Lindsey C.
I tried this cereal about a year ago because i was looking for a healthy alternative to the typical cereal that is loaded with sugar and/or corn syrup. Wow was i surprised. Have been eating Uncle Sam's ever since and there are no plans to switch back. Great product.

I love Uncle Sam cereal--the original kind is all I've tasted--and eat it often. However, I am concerned that the flax seeds are whole. I've been reading and hearing recently that flax seeds must be ground in order to access all of their Omega-3 goodies. Does Uncle Sam contain ground as well as whole flax seed, or must I continue to add a tablespoon of ground seeds to my morning bowl? Just wondering. Either way, it's still the healthiest and best-tasting cereal on the market, as far as I am concerned.
- G Smith
"Wow, a great tasting cereal without all the unpronounceable ingredients that other cereals insist on having. Great job !!!"
- Joanna G
"We love Uncle Sam at our house! I was feeding my son Cheerios in the morning until I found out that the oats they use are genetically modified. Cue the Uncle Sam! I remember eating it when I was younger, and I wish I had thought of it before. Now my little buddy cries out "Unkee San" every morning when his belly starts grumbling. We both agree- the simple, healthy recipe should never change. My husband has yet to be converted, but I have faith :)"

"To the people behind Uncle Sam Cereal, simply put: You are awesome. As an part-time endurance athlete and full time multi-tasker I've struggled with finding the perfect cereal. And trust me, I have taken it seriously. So seriously that it's become a running (pun intended) joke in our little family. When my boyfriend brought home Uncle Sam's for the first time, I poured myself a bowl, took a big bite, and stated matter of factly that this was the WORST cereal of all time. Little did I know that the second bite turned into the next bowl turned into stocking up on boxes turned into having my mom go out to Publix for a box in anticipation of a week end visit. What started out as resistance has turned into a genuine love for unassuming box. You guys make a great cereal and I wanted you to know that a Tallahassee lassie appreciates it. "

"I am on my 14th box of Uncle Sam and I cannot stop eating it! I have to hide my Uncle Sam cereal to make sure it is always there for me in the morning. I cannot begin to explain what a difference my body feels since I added Uncle Sam to my mornings, it is like adding pure Sunshine in a small bowl each day. Thank you once again for the help in changing how I feel...you are my Sunshine..my only Sunshine and please don't ever take my Sunshine away:-) - Susan B"

"I really like the Uncle Sam's cereal"
- Thomas Fallen
"I love Uncle Sam cereal, the original kind and the mixed berries, and I love Uncle Sam oatmeal (the original, plain kind)! I started eating the cereal about 10 years ago, after noticing a box at my neighborhood health-food store, and started eating the oatmeal 3 or 4 years ago -- again, after seeing it on the health-food store shelf. I love the taste of all 3 products, plus the fiber content, the flax seeds - and that there's no added sugar! I applaud you for sweetening only with barley malt. I try to eat as little sugar as possible. Since sugar causes inflammation in the body and is not necessary as a nutrient, I save it for special occasions (artisan dark chocolate, organic-milk ice cream, homemade pies, that kind of thing). After limiting my sugar intake for the past 10 years, I really have come to dislike the taste of sugar (and the sugar-crash after-effects). It's nearly impossible to find cereal without sugar or evaporated cane juice, so your cereals are my No. 1 favorite. "

The F-Factor Diet authored by Tanya Zuckerbrot MS, RD is an innovative nutrition program which has helped thousands of people lose weight and feel their very best. Instead of focusing on certain items to eliminate in the diet, Tanya's program emphasizes the addition of high fiber foods to a well-rounded meal plan. The F-Factor Diet is based on scientific principles which do not change with the diet tides. The program is a lifestyle change and a long term solution because incorporating adequate fiber in your diet, like that in Uncle Sam® products, eliminates feelings of hunger and deprivation associated with many other weight loss plans and their subsequent discontinuation.
